Single-Band

A designation indicating that phone operates on only one frequency band.

A single-band phone is usually a CDMA or GSM digital phone that operates only in the 1900 MHz (PCS) frequency band. Single-band phones are not compatible with networks in Europe, Asia, and Africa.

NOTE: This definition applies to the U.S. and Canada, and may not be accurate for other countries.
